The Pearl of Great Price
In the early days of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, when much Mormon Doctrine was still being revealed, Joseph Smith came into contact with man who had inherited a small group of mummies. This man was travelling with his display and charging admission. When Joseph heard that there were also documents with the mummies, he strongly encouraged Church members to purchase them. The man refused to sell the documents without the mummies, so the Church acquired the lot. When Joseph translated these documents, he found the Book of Abraham, which now is found in the Pearl of Great Price. The Book of Moses was a result of his re-translation of the Bible, in which he restored precious truths lost over time. The Pearl of Great Price now preaches many wonderful truths found in Mormon Doctrine.
