Crossing a Milestone
My daughter ended up behind in her class because of family matters that kept her out of school. We worked really hard to try to keep up her school work and the teacher was very understanding, but it was her reading that suffered. As things settled down, I enrolled her in a phonics program that used the Milestone Reading method. This program kept her from repeating first grade again. I did not want her retained because our circumstances were out of her control, but I knew that she also had to be reading at her grade level to be promoted. I am so grateful to her teacher and to Milestone.
