The yard size and shape are important factors to consider. A wireless fence works by creating a perimeter circle around the yard. For this reason, it works best in square-like yards. However, this also means it will provide less coverage in yards that are more rectangular in shape or have some other unique shape. The result is that these systems will provide less coverage than their in ground fence counterpart. This is something to seriously consider when choosing between the two as you really want to give your pet as much room to move around as you can.
