Gastritis is an inflammation of the stomach lining

It has similar symptoms of heartburn, but doesn’t cause heartburn. Common causes of gastritis are; aspirins, alcohol, smoking, infection or erosion of the stomach lining. Common symptoms are; vomiting, dark stools, lose of appetite, nausea and upper abdominal pain. A gastritis diet consist of foods that are easy to digest. Your intake of milk and dairy products should be within 3 servings per day no more. Alcohol, smoking and spicy foods should be avoided, while tomatoes, fatty foods, and citrus should be limited. Also food that personal caused you heartburn in the past shouldn’t be eaten. Foods with caffeine cause stomach acid to increase, try to limit or avoid these products. Food that cause gas should be avoided broccoli, cabbage, onions for example, if these food haven’t caused you gas in the past they are fine to be eaten. High fiber foods (whole grains, vegetables and fruits) don’t not increase stomach for most people and are fine to be eaten, if stomach pain worsens while taking these foods for you stop consuming these products immediately. As a last note, avoid eating to completion. The fuller your stomach becomes the more gastric pressure is increased. Eating to fullness can increase stomach pain, try to eat until your hunger is satisfied. One tip is eat slowly, your brain controls your hunger, and it has been proven that by eating slowly you can become more full with less food ingested.
