When my wife and I were on our way to the office the other day, we got a phone call from our oldest son. He was going to be starting his guitar lessons that day, and he was trying to figure out what time it was starting. I told him that he wouldn’t be doing it until we got home from the office, since he was going to be learning from guitar tricks online. We had not told him that he was going to be learning the guitar from a website, and not a teacher at a music store. He was still pretty excited.

This past Thanksgiving I drove up to Park City Utah to spend it with my brother and his wife. Of course the other reason I went up to Park city was to do some serious skiing. This is something that I’ve been enjoying since I was a teenager. Thanksgiving dinner was incredible as it was prepared by my brother and sister in law in tandem. While they were preparing the Thanksgiving dinner my nephew entertained me by playing the guitar he learned through listening to some free guitar lessons. My nephew is only 11 years old; however he really seems to understand the dynamics of playing the guitar.

One of the most common problems that young singers have, is that they sing through their nose. You might not even be aware of it, or even know what it is. But if you want to learn how to stop nose singing, you can. The first thing you should do is find out if you have this problem. Pick a note that you are comfortable with sing it. Now sing the same note, but this time hold your nose. Does the pitch change? Does the note sound different? If it does then you are probably singing through your nose. I am working very carefully at the piano to develop left hand technique, using Bach 2 part Inventions. I have tried many therapies and exercises to ease the tense muscles, Holosync meditation has been the most help.
