US Citizenship Test – An Obsticle?

Immigration to the United States has several steps. After gaining the status of a permanent resident the immigrant has to live in the US for a certain period of time before the next step, applying to become a US citizen. During the process the immigrant has to pass a US citizenship test. Language barrier can be a problem for some immigrants. The test has questions about the US history and the government system. There are non-profit agencies that provide free lessons for immigrants to learn English and to prepare for the test. Becoming a US citizen is a long process and requires an effort from an immigrant but in the end he or she receives the status of a US citizen.
